About Fiona

Fiona de Mauny
MISRM OSSM(Dip) MSMA
SPORT AND REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPY
Fiona's love of sport began at Cambridge University, when she learned to row at Jesus College Boat Club. Determined to prove her team captain wrong ("she's enthusiastic and motivated, but too small to ever be any good"), she worked hard to gain a seat in the College 1st 8, and eventually gained a Half Blue for the University, rowing in the Lightweight Women's Boat Race at Henley in 2005. Her rowing career continued after University around a full time job as an Environmental Engineer, starting at Weybridge Rowing Club, and culminating at Molesey Boat Club, for whom she won the National Rowing Championships in the lightweight coxless four.
Following this success, a change of sport was in order and she took up athletics, training with Walton Athletic Club and Herne Hill Harriers on a regular basis. She is a two-time Surrey County Champion in 1500m and 800m, and has achieved national ranking standard performances at all distances from 400m to the Half Marathon. She currently holds Walton AC records at 800m, Mile, 5000m and Half Marathon distances. She has also qualified for a British Championship Place at the London Marathon, and has been invited to compete at British Athletics Championships and Team Trials in the 800m. She is a full member of the British Milers Club, the premier middle distance track club in the country. She swims for relaxation and cycles for cross training, as well as practicing yoga on a regular basis for recovery.
Fiona is renowned for her commitment to training for improvement and dedicated pursuit of excellence, which she applies through her sports massage practice.
